The NMAAHC was created to ensure that African American stories, struggles, and achievements are preserved and shared truthfully. Political pressure to alter exhibits or limit difficult conversations about racism undermines the museum's core mission and disrespects the communities it serves. This unprecedented political interference seeks to fundamentally alter how Black history is presented to millions of visitors.
