Petition: Let's DeFlock Woonsocket!

Thousands of cities around the country have suffered the spread of Flock Cameras, an automatic surveillance tool that gathers huge amounts of data on unsuspecting residents. Woonsocket is one of the communities targeted by the Flock corporation, housing at least 20 of these questionably-legal surveillance devices within our city.

Flock cameras increase government surveillance in direct violation of our constitutional right to privacy, expand unregulated corporate power, and have enabled wrongful arrests and stalking and harassment by government officials.

The situation is so bad that the State of RI has issued a pause on the installation of new Flock cameras. And our neighbors across Rhode Island and Southern Massachusetts have begun to ditch these questionably-legal surveillance tools altogether. For the sake of our safety and right to privacy, it's time Woonsocket follow suit!

That's why we're calling on the Woonsocket City Council to end our city's relationship with the Flock corporation, and remove these dangerous cameras from our streets. Add your name to join the call!
