#DeleteUber ?

The recent executive order banning Muslims has caused a worldwide outrage resulting in hundreds of thousands of people protesting at airports. At the John F. Kennedy Airport in New York, taxi drivers joined the Muslim ban protest by not picking up arriving passengers for an entire hour. Uber was caught in a suspected scheme that profited off the surging protests by reducing their rates. This action caused outrage and a national campaign using the hashtag #DeleteUber is claiming that Uber tried to quote unquote break the strike.

Many people have implemented boycotting the company due to joining of President Trump's business council. Last Saturday, Uber CEO, Travis Kalanick, commented on this decision stating,
"My believe that by speaking up and engaging we can make a difference."

Since then, Lyft has donated $1 million to the American Civil Liberties Union to alleviate the legal costs of the detainees. In counter, Uber has started a $3 million legal defense fund to help drivers with immigration and translation services.
