Unlike most companies who quickly moved to recognize Juneteenth as a paid holiday for their workers, Amazon refused to give workers the day off and instead offered workers the chance to “dress up” at work to celebrate instead.

Amazon’s refusal to give workers Juneteenth off is extremely disrespectful to the Black community, who make up a majority of workers in Amazon fulfillment centers.

We’re sending a petition to Amazon corporate to demand they treat their employees with the respect we deserve and make Juneteenth a paid holiday for workers nationwide.
