Demand Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz testify before Congress for blatant union-busting.
From Big Tobacco to Big Banks, we’ve seen it before. Big business breaks the law, gets caught, and doesn’t stop. Then Congress brings in the CEOs to testify under oath and suddenly things change.
In the face of unrelenting union-busting, Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz must be required to testify before Congress.
Schultz says he has no plans to ever negotiate in good faith with the Starbucks Workers United union. He’s offered to raise the pay of non-union workers without offering the same to unionized workers while also refusing to provide benefits.
Starbucks has fired more than 70 union organizers and closed recently unionized stores. Each of these actions is a clear retaliatory act against the more than 200 recently unionized Starbucks stores across the country.
Starbucks is also currently the defendant in a case brought by the National Labor Relations Board, which accused the company of more than 200 unfair labor violations.
Howard Schultz and Starbucks must answer for their blatant union busting and anti-union activities.
Sign the petition to Chairman of the House Education and Labor Committee, Rep. Bobby Scott (D-VA), and urge him to call Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz before Congress to testify about his illegal union-busting.
