State and local governments have an incredible opportunity to spend billions of dollars prioritizing investments in public transit, electric vehicles and charging infrastructure, and other low-carbon transportation options and significantly impact the fight against climate change and racial and economic inequity.

Or they can prioritize adding lanes to existing roads and building new highways instead and significantly increase the greenhouse gas emissions and toxic pollution that will make the climate crisis worse.
