FOX News is risking people’s lives with Covid misinformation, vaccine skepticism and anti-vax lies.

Even though more than 60% of FOX News viewers are in the high-risk, over-65 age group for the worst outcomes from Covid-19^[1] and the most in need of the lifesaving vaccines, reports show 60% of FOX News' vaccine coverage over the summer included anti-vax claims^[2] and put more lives in danger.

FOX News claims that public-health mask mandates are “tyranny" and calls on viewers to reject them. Tucker Carson, host of the most-watched show on FOX, even said kids wearing masks is “child abuse and you are morally obligated to attempt to prevent it.”^[3]

It’s frightening that the network which consistently downplays the seriousness of the pandemic, while amplifying risky treatment alternatives like Ivermectin,^[4] is allowed to spew disinformation directly into the homes of millions of Americans 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Now polling from the Kaiser Family Foundation^[5] has revealed FOX News has nearly as much trust from its viewers for Covid-19 information as NPR, making the potential impact devastating on public health everywhere FOX News is on the air.

Sadly, FOX News lies don’t stop with Covid-19. As we know, hosts didn’t waste a minute before spreading fear and misinformation about the 2020 election.

Mail-in ballots! Dead people voting! Democrats voting twice! Dominion machines were rigged! They flipped votes to Biden! They were hacked by Venezuela! China! And even Italy!

These blatant lies would be laughable if they weren’t so dangerous.

Polling shows 82% of FOX News viewers believe the Big Lie that the election was stolen from Donald Trump.^[6] The January 6th attack on the Capitol is the inevitable outcome of this nonstop exposure to election lies and conspiracies.

And even on the day of the deadly insurrection, while FOX News hosts were privately texting Trump’s Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, begging him to get Trump to stop it, they still spread lies on air, downplaying the violence and blaming ‘Antifa.’

Google has permanently banned Fox News host Dan Bongino for Covid misinformation.^[7] Twitter permanently deplatformed Trump. Facebook permanently banned Alex Jones and his InfoWars disinformation conspiracy content. And DirecTV just announced it will permanently drop the right-wing conspiracy spewing disinformation and lies of the One America Network.
