TELL MAYOR PERRY: DON'T CUT OUR LOLLIPOP PATROLS
After raising council tax by 27%, the Mayor is now asking Croydon families to pay more while delivering even less in return.
For hundreds of children and families, our school crossing patrol officers are the difference between a safe journey and a dangerous crossing. Cutting them to save pennies is a decision that leaves our communities vulnerable and our families rightly concerned.
These cuts will leave busy roads unstaffed during peak school hours, pile extra pressure on parents and school staff and undermine trust in the council’s commitment to safety, community and investment in our children.
- Halt any plans to cut lollipop staff.
- Use fines from the Healthy School Streets scheme to fund the lollipop patrols we really need.
- Consult with affected schools, families and communities.
- Prioritise child safety in all budget decisions.

If you agree, add your name. Let’s send a message loud and clear: our children’s safety is not up for negotiation.
