The current design options being considered for the North DuSable Lake Shore Drive project are all variations of the current highway through Chicago's premier park. People who actually visit the park on foot, cycle, or transit experience how the highway cuts the city off from our prized lakefront parks and beaches and pollutes it with constant noise and exhaust. We're in a climate emergency! We deserve better.

DuSable Lake Shore Drive was never meant to be a highway and was originally designed as a boulevard. If you've experienced the Lakefront Trail during Bike the Drive, you've felt what's possible. We can start by opening Lake Shore Drive to bikers every Sunday. Then, let's return DuSable Lake Shore Drive to its roots and update it to a complete street with bus rapid transit, at-grade crossings for people, and more bike lanes.

Add your name to support a weekly Bike the Drive and show IDOT and CDOT we won't accept more of the same car-centric design of our parks. We'll let you know of future opportunities to take action for a people-first DuSable Lake Shore Boulevard.
