Since 1962, the United States has blockaded the nation of Cuba over ideological disagreements. But even after the end of the Cold War, White House after White House has kept the policy in place – with Donald Trump even enacting harsher penalties on the working people of the island.

These actions have created massive shortages of food, fuel, and medical supplies – putting the economic pressure on the everyday people of Cuba, not the political elites or ruling-class. It is clear that these are measures designed to break the class solidarity of the Cuban people in pursuit of the interests of the wealthy & powerful.
