Endorse Marquita Bradshaw

Dear Knoxville DSA member,

This is information and a ballot for a membership vote on endorsing Marquita Bradshaw for U.S. Senator from Tennessee. She is running for one of Tennessee's Senate seats against Republican Bill Hagerty in the general election to be held on November 3, 2020. Knox DSA's Electoral Politics committee unanimously recommends her for endorsement by our membership, and she has already been endorsed by Memphis-MidSouth DSA. If Knoxville DSA endorses Ms. Bradshaw, we will be part of a coordinated statewide movement to flip the U.S. Senate from Tennessee.

Bradshaw, a progressive Democrat, won the Democratic primary over a highly favored centrist candidate thanks to grassroots organizing. If elected, she will also become the first Black woman senator in Tennessee state history. Bradshaw is not a DSA member, but she answered a questionnaire from Memphis-MidSouth DSA that you can review below:

You can also read Bradshaw's platform on her website. In keeping with our chapter electoral policy, and with respect to the democratic participation of our entire membership, we submit our recommendation to the membership for a vote.
Please fill out the form as indicated and submit it no later than 11:59PM Sept 2, when our ActionNetwork poll will close.
