Environmental Justice in CT: Webinar and Discussion

In light of recent events surrounding the murder of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and countless other injustices, it is important to reaffirm the notion that black people deserve the right to a safe space.

An important conversation Connecticut needs to have right now is Environmental Justice. One’s environment encompasses their built and natural surroundings, resources available, people in the community, and the local state and federal laws that affect one’s ability to exist.

Join CT Citizen Action Group and key Environmental Justice activists for a conversation next Wednesday, August 26th at 1pm.

The following speakers who will be featured on the call:

  • Representative Geraldo Reyes Jr., 75th Assembly District of Waterbury
  • Taylor Mayes, CT Roundtable on Climate and Jobs Communications Coordinator
  • Doris Johnson, Outreach and Education Coordinator at the Office of Environmental Justice at DEEP

We will be calling attention to environmental justice initiatives taking place in Connecticut, learn from the experts in our state, and share next steps and upcoming actions you can get involved in.
