#FindFive Phone/Text Tree

At FACT, we're not leaving the movement to defend our democracy in the hands of just one mode of communication. FACT posts on social media and send email blasts, but we are also building a way folks can get updates from people in the community.

We're creating an old-fashioned phone (or text) tree, where people agree to personally reach out to five people when there are updates about a new event. We're calling it #FindFive.

Your five people might be folks you already know from your school, family or work, or they could be five people from FACT's network.

Why build a phone (and texting) tree? We are likely beginning a period of larger demonstrations and increasing public pressure to impeach and remove the President.  The Democrats don't have to send their articles of impeachment to the Senate immediately. And even though Republicans in the Senate say they'll protect Trump regardless of the evidence, the information about his abuse of power has them under enormous pressure. Our presence in the streets over the coming weeks is critical to making this pressure a factor they can no longer ignore. There may be a lot more rallies and marches before we are done.

We are going to need to keep expanding and strengthening the network we use to bring people to these actions. A #FindFive team can be a place to get questions answered about demos, problem-solve carpools, parking or safety planning.

The better we get at communicating with each other directly, the stronger we're going to be as a movement standing against corruption and treason.
