We are FACT, Floridians Against Corruption and Treason. The evidence of Russian interference in the 2016 election is verified regularly by the FBI and other intelligence agencies. The evidence of repeated meetings between Trump campaign representatives and Russian operatives throughout the campaign is also widely available. There is an active FBI investigation into these matters, and revelations may emerge any moment. But Congressional investigations in the House and Senate have been slow, under-resourced, and mired in partisan politics.

The legitimacy of the United States government is in question. If the President was elected even in part due to collusion with a foreign effort to interfere in our democratic process, then the will of the people has been subverted. We demand that violations of the law be investigated, and where violations are found, that prosecution should follow.

Despite the clear will of the people (see 4/25/17 NBC/Wall Street Journal poll), Congress has failed so far to call for a public, independent investigation, a special prosecutor or a commission to fairly investigate these concerns. An investigation is necessary to establish if the current administration is indebted to a foreign power, putting a foreign nation's strategic interests ahead of our own, and putting their personal financial interests ahead of their duty to serve the people of the United States. Without a public, independent investigation we let last year's attacks on our elections become fatal blows to our body politic.

We will not let democracy slip through our fingers.
