Pollution spills happen because our water infrastructure is aging. Despite Hurricane Helene passing well offshore, it resulted in nearly 1.5 million gallons of sewage spilling into our waterways.

The hurricanes didn’t cause these pollution spills alone. It’s a manmade issue that we must address. Without the proper infrastructure, any severe storm that drops a lot of rain poses a significant threat to our communities.
