Flatten the Curve of Inequality: Economic Justice

No one should be worried about making ends meet. This health crisis highlights the huge gaps in our social safety net that disproportionately impact women, people of color, low-wage and gig workers, undocumented immigrants, and people with disabilities.

The federal relief package intentionally excludes underserved populations, including immigrant workers and families who are on the frontlines of caring for our communities during this pandemic. Families need essential economic protections during these uncertain times, our local governments must provide this support for all San Diego County and Imperial County residents.

Cash assistance for undocumented community members, paid sick leave, utility shutoff protections, small business grants and childcare are some of the essential provisions families need during this crisis. Without help from the federal government we are counting on our local leaders to act.
