Despite small steps towards divestment, the ANU still invests over $45 million in fossil fuel companies, including BHP Billiton, Rio Tinto, Wesfarmers and Woodside Petroleum. The ANU is continuing to support the operations of the fossil fuel industry. This not only facilitates continued fossil fuel extraction, but also legitimises the industry's agenda of blocking political action on climate change.

As the national university, which conducts ground-breaking climate change science and policy research, the ANU has a responsibility to take leadership and ensure its financial investments do not undermine our future.

The ANU is not listening to the concerns of its community, so it's time to speak in a language they understand - money.
