FUND OUR REGIONAL SCHOOLS
This summer I knocked on hundreds of doors. I talked to many people in District 39 and the message was clear, we need help from the state to fully fund our schools.
We must work together to use our collective voice to fight for more school funding. The entire community should provide written testimony to ensure we have our voices heard.
The 2 bills that will help our schools are:
The general assembly would ensure that transportation categorical funds between the state and regional school
districts would be fully funded in order to ensure that the interests of regional school districts are protected and also to advance the education mission of regional school districts.
This act would increase the state’s regionalization bonus to six percent (6%) of the state’s fiscal year share of foundation education aid. This bonus would be ongoing and continuing so long as the district remains a regional school district.
