The Coalition on Human Needs, Committee for Education Funding, Coalition for Health Funding, and Campaign to Invest in America’s Workforce have drafted a letter to congressional appropriations leaders urging them to provide a robust FY 2027 allocation for the Labor–HHS–Education Subcommittee. The letter calls on Congress to reject the Administration’s proposed cuts and instead reverse recent reductions so these vital programs can meet the needs of families, communities, and local economies.

Programs funded through the Labor–HHS–Education bill play a critical role in supporting public health, education, workforce development, child care, research, services for older adults and people with disabilities, and other essential investments. Chronic underfunding—combined with withheld funding, staffing cuts, and rising costs—has weakened these systems. The letter urges Congress to ensure enacted funding reaches communities, maintain adequate federal staffing to administer programs effectively, and strengthen investments that improve health, expand educational opportunity, support workers, and bolster economic productivity.

Local, state, and national organizations are all encouraged to sign this letter. We hope you will add your organization’s name and circulate this request to other groups in your networks.

Please note: This sign-on letter is for organizations only. The letter text is final and it isn't feasible to consider additional edits.
