Get Involved! Committees & Constituency Groups

Sign me up! I'm interested in getting involved with MALC Committees and Constituency Groups:

A. Philip Randolph Institute (APRI)- To A. Philip Randolph and Bayard Rustin, APRl's co-founders, the fight for workers' rights and civil rights were inseparable.

Civil Rights and Community Service Committee- Comprised of representatives from MALC Constituency Groups and works to protect civil and human rights while creating opportunities, educating, and building the union movement for the betterment of the working class and community.

Coalition of Black Trade Unionists (CBTU)- CBTU seeks to fulfill the dream of those Black trade unionists, both living and deceased, who throughout this century have courageously and unremittingly struggled to build a national movement that would bring all our strengths and varied talents to bear in the unending effort to achieve economic, political and social justice for every American

Education Committee- If knowledge is power then a knowledgeable union membership is a powerful union membership. We seek to do just that by providing an annual calendar of education events that are open, accessible, and beneficial to our affiliated unions.

Laborfest Committee- Responsible for planning our yearly Laborfest Celebration. From May through August, the Committee meets regularly to discuss crucial details to the planning process and ensures that information travels back to affiliates.

Labor Council for Latin American Advancement (LCLAA)- LCLAA was born in 1972 out of the need to educate, organize and mobilize Latinos in the labor movement and has expanded its influence to organize Latinos in an effort to impact workers' rights and their influence in the political process.

Pride at Work- Representing LGBTQ+ union members and their allies. We organize mutual support between the organized Labor Movement and the LGBTQ+ Community to further social and economic justice.

Union Veterans Committee- brings union veterans together to speak out on the issues that impact us most, especially the need for good jobs, quality of life, the care for our veterans who served, and a strong, fully funded and staffed VA.

Young Workers Committee- a group for under-40 workers to meet other union activists and leaders, build leadership and organization, and sharpen knowledge and skills to revive unionism for today’s working class.

By signing up, you'll receive emails from the Milwaukee Area Labor Council who houses Committees and Constituency Groups in Milwaukee, Ozaukee, and Washington Counties.
