King County Divestment for Justice is a grassroots coalition of workers, union members, and community organizers committed to ending our county’s financial and political ties to corporations that profit from genocide, war, surveillance, deportation, and state violence. We believe public institutions must serve people — not corporations that build the infrastructure of repression.

Our current campaign challenges King County’s relationship with Microsoft and Amazon, corporations that provide cloud, AI, and surveillance technologies to the Israeli military, the U.S. military, ICE, and Customs and Border Protection. While these companies profit from global militarization and immigration/migrant enforcement violence, they also maintain deep influence in local governance. We are organizing to pressure County Executive Girmay Zahilay to cut ties with Brad Smith, Microsoft, Amazon, and other corporations complicit in war profiteering and deportation infrastructure.

Through coordinated Days of Action, petition campaigns, public comment, labor engagement, and direct outreach, we are building power to demand divestment and accountable governance. Our labor organizing centers rank-and-file workers who refuse to see their public institutions aligned with corporate actors profiting from violence. Our community organizing builds pressure from residents who voted for change and expect leadership that prioritizes human rights over corporate access.

We are growing a countywide movement to make state violence economically and politically unviable — and to ensure King County’s investments reflect justice, dignity, and collective liberation.
