The 26th Biennial Convention will take place this September 11-14, 2025, at the Hilton Columbus at Polaris.

Convention highlights will include a full day of training on Thursday, September 11th to include a panel of factfinders who will discuss the fact-finding process, what they consider in issuing a recommended award, and field questions from members. Delegates will also hear from a labor economist about how the current economic outlook may affect collective bargaining in the coming years. Speakers at the Convention will include AFSCME President Lee Saunders, AFSCME Secretary-Treasurer Elissa McBride and Ohio AFL-CIO President Tim Burga. Special guest former Ohio Senator Sherrod Brown will join us so that we can thank him for successfully sponsoring and passing the Social Security Fairness Act that eliminated the GPO and WEP for Ohio public sector employees.

The registration fee for the convention will be $150.00 for each delegate, alternate delegate and fraternal delegate. The cost to attend the Ohio Council 8 convention has not been increased for over twenty years! This fee includes the delegate reception on Thursday, September 11, 2025, lunches on Thursday, September 11, 2025, Friday, September 12, 2025, and Saturday, September 13, 2025, Activist Awards breakfast Saturday, September 13, 2025, and a continental breakfast on Sunday, September 14, 2025. 

We have negotiated special room rates plus tax for the convention. A Single or Double room occupancy is $179.00 per night with an additional 15.6% in state and local taxes.
