Tell Lawmakers: Grant Safe Passage for the Global Sumud Flotilla
Over 40 civilian ships are sailing from European and North African ports toward Gaza in an unprecedented international aid mission. Known as the Global Sumud Flotilla, this peaceful effort includes medical professionals, clergy, human rights advocates, and Members of the European Parliament.
Their goal is to break the illegal blockade and deliver humanitarian relief directly to the Palestinian people.
Reports Wednesday morning indicate that Israel has begun drone attacks on the flotilla, despite the fact that it is unarmed and operating under internationally protected humanitarian principles. Past flotillas have been met with violence, including the deadly attack on the Mavi Marmara in 2010. This must not be allowed to happen again.
Protecting this mission is a test of whether the international community will defend nonviolent resistance and humanitarian action, or continue enabling the blockade and collective punishment of Palestinians.
Add your name to urge lawmakers in the United States and Europe to immediately call for the safe and unimpeded passage of the Global Sumud Flotilla. Let the flotilla through. Let the aid reach Gaza. Let justice prevail.
