Our Revolution Texas Solidarity Saturdays With GM Workers in North Texas
Our Revolution Texas proudly and loudly stands with GM workers. Not only do we stand with them, our members are actively organizing ongoing solidarity support efforts!
United Auto Workers local 247 operates in Grand Prairie, TX. This production plant employs 4,300 employees, totaling 10% of GM’s work force, and generates a Texas-sized 47% of GM’s profits.
GM received $49.5 billion in tax-payer funded bail out money after the company's bankruptcy in 2009. Workers agreed to take a pay cut during the great recession to help GM recover. GM has since refused to return workers’ pay back to it previous 2008 levels.
Solidarity support efforts will continue now through the strike to help man the 24 hour shifts. To sign up for a shift and donate to union workers, please contact the UAW local at 972-647-1282.
