Sign the petition: ICE agents who break state or local laws must be held accountable!

Add your name to urge your state's governor, attorney general, and law enforcement leaders to arrest and prosecute ICE agents who break state or local laws.

Across the country, ICE agents have carried out raids that violate state and local statutes. They've entered homes without warrants, zip-tied children, and used weapons—including pepper balls and tear gas—against peaceful protesters, journalists, and clergy. They've broken into vehicles, destroyed private property, and detained American citizens without legal cause.

These actions are not "enforcement." They are crimes.

When ICE agents commit crimes, state and local police must intervene, arrest, and charge those agents to preserve public safety and civil order. And when an ICE agent is convicted under state law, that conviction cannot be pardoned by the president. That's why state-level enforcement is essential—it ensures that accountability cannot be undone by political influence.

Actor Mark Ruffalo's comment brings to mind the image of a totalitarian despot's "boot stamping on a human face—forever" from George Orwell's classic novel "1984":

"The beige brigades now roaming the streets like packs of coyotes are no different than the cross burners from before. They are just as racist and got it just as wrong. They hide their faces for shame or fear or justice and stamp their boots on your right to a fair trial. It will come back on you as well one day."

Grammy-winning rapper Doechii condemned the ICE raids and the militarization of Los Angeles:

"There are ruthless attacks that are creating fear and chaos in our communities… Trump is using military forces to stop a protest. I want you all to consider what kind of government it appears to be when every time we exercise our democratic right to protest, the military is deployed against us. What type of government is that?"

Reality TV star Kim Kardashian called out ICE:

"When we're told that ICE exists to keep our country safe and remove violent criminals—great. But when we witness innocent, hardworking people being ripped from their families in inhumane ways, we have to speak up… We can't turn a blind eye when fear and injustice keep people from living their lives freely and safely. There HAS to be a BETTER way."

The "Last of Us" actor Gabriel Luna added his take:

"Abolish it. Abolish ICE altogether. It's a terrible waste of resources. Those resources could be funneled to some more effective ways of handling this immigration issue that they are saying we have. The 15 guys waiting to get a job at 5 a.m. at the Home Depot parking lot are not the ones we need to be worrying about, but that's who's getting scooped up."

Add your name to the chorus of voices calling for accountability. ICE agents are not above the law.
