NYU Langone, Mount Sinai, and New York Presbyterian have all ended gender affirming care for trans youth––capitulating to the Trump administration’s attacks on trans people, their families, and the healthcare providers who care for them. Mount Sinai and NYU Langone have both reached settlements with Trump's DOJ to pay fees for providing this care upwards of $10 million dollars.

These hospitals have ended healthcare for transgender youth—not because of medical science, but because of political pressure from the Trump administration. The words that begin The Hippocratic Oath, “FIRST, DO NO HARM” mean not abandoning trans youth and their families.

There is no federal law banning care for trans youth, and New York State law protects trans healthcare. By ending their care, these hospitals are likely violating New York State law.  

If hospitals will abandon trans patients when pressured, they will abandon your care too.

WE DEMAND THAT THEY:

• Restore gender-affirming care for all trans youth patients

• Publicly apologize to families harmed by these decisions

• Meet with impacted families and advocates
