ICE out of Connecticut

Connecticut must not be complicit in the federal government's abusive immigration enforcement tactics or its creeping authoritarianism.

Armed ICE agents are terrorizing our communities — abducting parents in front of their children, targeting workers, and tearing students from their futures. These actions violate the dignity, safety, and basic rights of our neighbors. This is not justice — it’s a campaign of fear, and it has no place in our state.

We call on Connecticut’s elected officials — from the governor to mayors to the General Assembly — to take every possible action to protect our communities and resist federal overreach. This includes exploring bold financial measures that reflect our values.

We demand:
  • ICE out of Connecticut — no agents in our courthouses, schools, workplaces, or neighborhoods.
  • No National Guard, federal troops, or agents enforcing immigration or political crackdowns on our streets.
  • End all state and local cooperation with mass deportation infrastructure.
  • Refuse to funnel Connecticut tax dollars into an authoritarian federal agenda — and explore all legal pathways to withhold federal tax contributions that fund deportations, detentions, and civil rights violations.

We demand that Connecticut’s leaders cut all ties with ICE and DHS, and turn our state into a shield — not a pipeline — for oppression. This means legislative action, executive orders, municipal resistance — and serious exploration of economic disobedience.

We keep us safe. While we demand our elected representatives take real steps to defend our communities, we know that the most immediate and effective way to really push back against the Administration’s attacks is through mass mobilizing and grassroots community organizing. Hands off CT is committed to building independent and democratic community defense networks in every city, town, and neighborhood in our state.

We say NO to mass deportations. NO to militarized raids. NO to fear. YES to dignity, safety, and sanctuary. Connecticut must be a safe and welcoming place for all of us, regardless of immigration status.
