We know that elections are a key part of shifting power to win on the issues that are important to all of us, from fully funding public schools to addressing the climate crisis. This year so much is at stake. To stop Trump and beat back white supremacy and authoritarianism, we need to lead with the vision of the world we want to see: a state and a country where everyone can live with dignity and everyone can thrive.

This year, the WFP’s access to the ballot is being threatened. Governor Cuomo significantly increased the number of votes we need to stay on the ballot in future elections. We need 200,000 votes on the Working Families Party line for president to keep our ballot line.

Working Families Party-backed Democratic candidates for State Senate and State Assembly are in competitive races across New York State. The outcome of these elections will decide whether we have the power to stop cuts to our communities and tax the ultra rich who’ve gotten richer off of this crisis. At the same time, our vote in the presidential election will determine whether we’ll have a ballot line in the future.
