IMC-AFM Artificial Intelligence (AI) Action
We are alarmed that the AFM leadership has still not shared drafts of AI contract language or organizing plans with rank and file members. Further, the AFM appears to have made no effort towards organizing the collective action necessary to leverage demands.
We therefore ask all AFM members to sign below and join us in pledging that if AMPTP forces the AFM to strike in order to protect us from the threat of mass displacement and exploitation via AI: we will stand with the AFM 100% in fighting back. However: we serve notice that we will vote against ratification of any contract obligating AFM members to dig our own graves by participating--without a right to consent, compensation, or credit-- in the training of our permanent Generative AI replacements.
IMC AI committee will be posting our evaluation on This Action Network Site of the new contract language being presented. We invite all AFM member petition signers to participate in the discussions that will determine our response — vote will be limited to those who have worked under AMPTP contract.
