We are the Labor Solidarity Working Group of the Milwaukee chapter of the Democratic Socialists of America. We support the local Colectivo Coffee workers as they demand the company quit stalling and come to the bargaining table.

They won their union election fair and square, through a democratic process, and the company still refuses to recognize the union or being bargaining. The Labor Solidarity Working Group is flyering Colectivo Coffee locations throughout Milwaukee in order to raise awareness of the company's malfeasance in dealing with their workers.

We are not affiliated with Colectivo Collective, the workers union that's part of IBEW local 494. Instead, we are a group of concerned community members who want to increase awareness of the union campaign and to build solidarity with the workers.

When we flyer a location, we put up flyers in the neighborhood around the café, order coffee and food and tip the workers generously, express support for the union, and then hand out flyers on the public sidewalk in front of the store. It's a great opportunity to chat with folks about worker rights, connect with people who haven't heard about the union effort, and it helps to support the workers who are fighting for their union.
