INTEREST FORM: Union storytellers + story collectors (MN Truth Council)
CALLING ALL LOCAL UNION MEMBERS
Be part of an independent process to record the truth and document both the harms Minnesotans endured — and the resilience Minnesotans showed.
The Advocates for Human Rights is the implementing partner for the Governor's Council on Recording the Truth of Operation Metro Surge and Operation PARRIS — known as the Minnesota Truth Council. The MN Truth Council is an independent, non-partisan body creating a historical record of survivor and witness experiences. A report with recommendations for legislative and policy reform will be produced.
The Minneapolis Regional Labor Federation, AFL-CIO is calling on local union members to be storytellers and/or story collectors to document local worker experiences during the federal occupation.
Two main ways to get involved:
- Share what you experienced — at work and home — during the federal invasion by being a storyteller.
- Support others in feeling comfortable sharing their experiences by being a story collector.
Training will be available to story collectors; please indicate your format preference on the form.
People who share their story can choose whether they are anonymous, confidential, or public with their identity. It is up to each person's comfort level.
Questions? Please email volunteer@minneapolisunions.org and MRLF staff will be in touch.
