Position: Political Organizer

Status: Contractor

Overview

This is a Memphis-based contract position that requires significant time. We are seeking a passionate political organizer for a 12 month project. Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC), immigrants, women, and LGBTQ candidates are strongly encouraged to apply. Scope of project includes:

  • Recruiting new volunteers, members and small donors
  • Hosting digital and in-person outreach, training, and volunteer events
  • Identifying and developing volunteer leaders
  • Conducting direct voter contact operation for the 2022 elections


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Event and training facilitation
  • Understanding of campaigns and political program
  • Experience with data management such as VAN, or similar voter database
  • Phone banking, door to door canvassing, and other direct voter contact
  • Volunteer recruitment and leadership development


Requirements

  • Alignment with vision and values of Memphis For All
  • Oral and written communication, problem solving, and critical thinking skills
  • Skilled with Zoom, Google Suite, and social media platforms
  • Proficiency with spreadsheets, data entry
  • Experience working on political campaigns
  • Experience with volunteer recruitment and training
  • Interest in political strategy, grassroots organizing, and learning new skills
  • Strong commitment to meeting deadlines, measuring and reporting progress
  • Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends; some local travel is required; access to personal vehicle and a valid driver’s license is strongly recommended.

Compensation:

$42k to $46k
