Position: Political Organizer
Status: Contractor
Overview
This is a Memphis-based contract position that requires significant time. We are seeking a passionate political organizer for a 12 month project. Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC), immigrants, women, and LGBTQ candidates are strongly encouraged to apply. Scope of project includes:
- Recruiting new volunteers, members and small donors
- Hosting digital and in-person outreach, training, and volunteer events
- Identifying and developing volunteer leaders
- Conducting direct voter contact operation for the 2022 elections
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Event and training facilitation
- Understanding of campaigns and political program
- Experience with data management such as VAN, or similar voter database
- Phone banking, door to door canvassing, and other direct voter contact
- Volunteer recruitment and leadership development
Requirements
- Alignment with vision and values of Memphis For All
- Oral and written communication, problem solving, and critical thinking skills
- Skilled with Zoom, Google Suite, and social media platforms
- Proficiency with spreadsheets, data entry
- Experience working on political campaigns
- Experience with volunteer recruitment and training
- Interest in political strategy, grassroots organizing, and learning new skills
- Strong commitment to meeting deadlines, measuring and reporting progress
- Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends; some local travel is required; access to personal vehicle and a valid driver’s license is strongly recommended.
Compensation:
$42k to $46k
