What Does Rapid Response Look Like?

Rapid Response is a coordinated "neighborhood watch" for civil rights. When ICE is spotted, volunteers mobilize to:

  • Verify Reports: Confirming if activity is actually happening to prevent the spread of fear-based rumors.

  • Legal Observation: Documenting encounters from a safe distance to ensure agents are following the law (e.g., checking for judicial warrants). This will help the detainees' legal defense.

  • Family Support: Connecting impacted families with immediate legal aid, emergency childcare, and emotional support.

  • Community Alerts: Spreading "Know Your Rights" information so neighbors know they do not have to open their doors without a warrant.

Why Join the Movement?

People join Rapid Response because it is one of the most direct ways to protect the "sanctuary" of our neighborhoods. It turns individual fear into collective power. Whether you are a long-time advocate or a concerned neighbor, your presence as a witness provides a layer of protection for those most vulnerable to enforcement.

⚠️ Important Note on Getting Involved

This is not a sign-up for a specific training session. Instead, we serve as a bridge to the established Rapid Response teams that have been operating across the state.

By expressing interest, you are asking to be funneled to the existing team in your local area. Once connected, that specific local group will provide you with the specialized training, safety protocols, and communication tools you need to show up effectively for your neighbors.
