Avelo Airlines operates a business kidnapping-for-profit.  We don't want Avelo flying into ILG community until they drop their ICE contract.  

Months ago, Governor Meyer spoke publicly in support of boycotting Avelo as the carrier for I.C.E. deportation flights, but our tax dollars are still going to support Avelo! Avelo Airlines is the only carrier flying out of ILG (Wilmington, DE).  Delaware provides tax breaks and subsidies to Avelo – and we need Gov. Meyer to stop our tax dollars from supporting Avelo’s abductions.

1. Don’t Renew the Fuel Tax Break: Similarly to The State of Connecticut, Governor Meyer can use his Office’s Council on Development Finance and position as the co-chair of the Board of Directors of the Delaware Prosperity Partnership to end the Fuel Tax Break of at least $40,000 that Delaware gives to Avelo as long as they seek to profit from the I.C.E. contract.
2. No more tax dollars for Avelo advertising: Gov. Meyer can use his leadership role to work with Governor Murphy of New Jersey to take a stance against the Avelo-I.C.E. collaboration by having the Delaware River and Bay Authority stop using our tax dollars to subsidize advertising for an Airline that we, Delawareans, want no association with as long as they associate themselves with I.C.E’s fascist, anti-immigrant mass deportations.

We hope one day to not feel a sense of embarrassment when we see a billboard advertising flying Avelo out of Wilmington Airport.  We share the desire to fly ethically out of ILG in the future without putting money towards profiteering off the mass persecution of America’s immigrants.

• CALL New Castle County Executive Marcus Henry at (302) 395-5555 and The Delaware River and Bay Authority Executive Director at (302) 571-6300. You can also email DRBA at contact_us@DRBA.net. Their support is essential in garnering a response.
• JOIN the Stop Avelo Delaware Coalition led by No Borders Delaware. Partner organizations include Indivisible Highlands and Beyond, Delaware Working Families Party, Indivisible Southern Delaware, and Delaware Democratic Socialists of America – Migrant Rights Working Group.
• PROTEST at Honk-and-Wave actions co-hosted by Indivisible Highlands and Beyond and 302 United. They are being held at Wilmington Airport (ILG) on some Saturdays  11am-12pm.
