St. Paul has a problem. Our housing is old. Out-of-town and corporate landlords are letting properties deteriorate. And when things break, renters have no real power to get them fixed.
We're launching Safe Homes Saint Paul to change that. We're building a campaign to win a Right to Repair ballot measure in St. Paul. When landlords fail to fix rental property in a timely manner, tenants would be able to deduct repair costs from rent—up to $500 or 50% of rent, whichever is greater.
