Join the call for a permanent ceasefire and an end to the occupation of Palestine
The violence in Gaza enters its second month and continues at a horrifying pace. More than 15,000 Gazans are confirmed dead – 70% of which are women and children – and over 40,000 have been injured. More people are missing under the rubble as the IDF continues to flatten residential neighborhoods on Netanyahu’s orders.
The far-right government of Israel is committing war crimes on a daily basis, and has repeatedly stated their intent to remove the Palestinian population of Gaza entirely.
In the latest reports, the IDF dropped leaflets ordering civilians to evacuate their homes and travel to other areas of the Gaza strip while those areas were ALSO being bombed.
Hospitals and healthcare workers are under direct attack, and new documents released in Israeli media confirm that the IDF is knowingly targeting civilians under the pretense of trying to eliminate Hamas.
According to the Committee to Protect Journalists, the Israeli assault on Gaza has been the deadliest conflict for journalists and media workers in the three decades they’ve been keeping records. To date at least 60 journalists have been killed in Gaza, mostly from Israeli airstrikes.
Those Gazans lucky enough to survive the relentless bombing are scrambling to survive in a city under siege, surrounded by Israeli tanks, without access to food, water, medicine, shelter, or winter clothing.
And while support for a ceasefire – initiated by Congresswomen Rashida Tlaib and Cori Bush – is growing in Congress, there is no movement among Democratic leadership in the White House or Congress to end this violence or suspend our government’s support for it.
Hamas unquestionably committed atrocities on October 7th. Israel has committed atrocities too numerous to count both before and since October 7th – and they still are.
You cannot answer atrocities with other atrocities. You cannot bomb your way to peace.
The only path to a sustainable, permanent peace is to end the occupation of Palestine.
Join me, and add your name demanding a ceasefire and end to the occupation today.
