Join the DC Safety Squad: A Rapid Mobilization Team by Harriet's Wildest Dreams
our organization is evolving—to harness the power of community and technology and help people reimagine safety altogether.
We’re co-building The PATCH Network—an unprecedented, statewide network of mobile crisis teams, health and social services, advocates, and abolitionist organizations responding to crises with care, not violence.
We are committed to reimagining safety without police involvement and supporting communities that are over-policed and under-invested in.And to supercharge our work, we’re co-developing a bold alternative to 911—a dispatching system that allows organizations to quickly provide critical care to neighbors in need.
The goals of this program include:
Lay the groundwork for the creation of a harm reduction and rapid crisis response team
To formalize and provide the technical infrastructure needed to sustain the rapid community work already happening with Black communities in DC.
Hold space for individuals and organizations to learn more about one another, share best practices, and establish mobilization campaigns that both support and fund our work.
