We seek to support the artist and workers who are fighting to keep our stages, screens and galleries free. Free from government control, censorship, and the erasure of whole cultures from view. We seek to rally the DMV arts community to stand up to, to stop, and finally reverse the trend of partisan interference in the arts.

The Kennedy Center is under threat from President Trump, who wishes to demolish the building and fire hundreds of workers. The KC belongs to the American people. We demand: Stop the Closure. Stop the Layoffs!

We are organizing to build a coalition strong enough to slow, stop, and reverse this closure and end this saga of government overreach at the nation's art center. We have a plan, but we need you if we want to win!

Our Principles

• Power to the Arts Workers - We will fight for arts workers to be able to exercise their 1st Amendment right to free speech and association.
• Defend Free Speech - We fight against government and political control of artistic expression.
• Resist Authoritarianism - We seek to deny arts and culture as a pillar of authoritarianism.
• Stop Co-Optation - We will fight the co-opting of art and culture, first and foremost at the Kennedy Center.
• Spark an Arts Rebellion - Through art and protest to inspire a constant resistance to government overreach in the arts starting with Washington, DC.

What We Do

• Organizing: We believe all arts workers and supporters will create a united front through organizing both the community, unions and allies.
• Convening: Bringing arts workers and arts supporters community into a unified, key force of resistance. We establish opportunities for a resistance arts community to convene and strategize.
• Spotlighting: We will aggressively show a spotlight on the Kennedy Center, its corruption, censorship and its attacks on workers, leveraging connections to key personalities and media outlets.
• Solidarity: We stand with all arts workers in DC and beyond who are fighting for our core principles.
