We won't defeat the fossil fuel industry at every level of government just by having awesome conference calls. We will do it by building local organizations all over the country that can reach out to young people and hold actions that build our movement.

Sunrise Bay Area just had our Fall Launch meeting, at which we came up with a structure, principles, and goals for our local hub. Over the next month, we'll be meeting in four separate teams, each led by a team coordinator:

• Actions, who will research action opportunities and coordinate future actions
• Growing the Movement (GroMo), who will reach out to potential new members and plan trainings and fun events
• Communications, who will reach out to the public via social media, email, and traditional communications (hi!)
• Solidarity and Partnerships, who will reach out and develop partnerships with other Bay Area groups
