Join the Sussex Visibility Brigade!
The Sussex Visibility Brigade is a grassroots collective dedicated to ensuring our community’s voices are not just heard, but impossible to ignore. We believe that democracy is a muscle—if you don't exercise it, it withers. Through bold public presence, strategic organizing, and community education, we turn passive support into active progress.
Whether you are a seasoned activist or someone looking to take your first step into local advocacy, there is a place for you here.
Why Join Us?
- Amplified Impact: Individual voices are important, but a brigade creates a roar. We provide the platform and the numbers to make an impact on local issues.
- Community & Connection: Join a network of like-minded neighbors who value transparency, equality, and civic engagement.
- Skill Building: Learn the "how-to" of civic action, from writing postcards & navigating local government to effective public demonstration.
How to Get Involved
We are currently looking for passionate individuals to help us grow. Depending on your interest and availability, you can jump in through several pathways:
1. Protests & Actions
Help us be visible! We need people to show up and participate in our actions and ensure our public demonstrations are safe, FUN, and high-impact.
2. Volunteering & General Support
Not everyone wants to be on a megaphone, and that’s okay! We need "behind-the-scenes" heroes to help with outreach, flyer distribution, and event logistics.
3. Hands On Democracy
This is our signature interactive event designed to demystify the democratic process. We are looking for people to:
- Crafting & Signs: Creating the visual "noise" for our next outing.
- Whistle Kits: Assembling safety and signal kits for public demonstrations.
- Postcard Campaigns: Writing to representatives and neighbors to drive civic heat.
- Care Kits: Putting together essential supplies for community members in need.
Ready to make Sussex County more visible? Join the Brigade today and help us build a democracy that works for everyone.
