Sign up to join our group of trouble-making tenants! Build the socialist tenant movement in NYC!

The Tenant Organizing Working Group (TOWG) builds DSA’s tenant organizing infrastructure while supporting a broader tenant movement across the city. It focuses on neighborhood-based leadership development, with groups organizing tenant associations in all five boroughs.

We also have citywide organizing projects new members can easily plug into, that take place in the following committees within TOWG: Trainings & External Organizing, Campaigns and Research, NYCHA Solidarity, Membership, Political Education, and Communications.

The Working Group seeds new tenant unions, strengthens existing ones, and has helped grow DSA membership within tenant organizations while bringing tenant leaders into DSA. In addition to the buliding canvasses, tenant association meetings, tabling events, and organizing skills trainings that occur at the local neighborhood level, TOWG also coordinates citywide events like tenant circles and our monthly general meeting.
