Democratic socialists believe that our economy should be democratic and led by the working class; not by capitalists for profit. Capitalism relies on the exploitation of workers, and we want an alternative. It also relies on white supremacy, patriarchy, and scores of other modes of social oppression. To keep the system going, capitalists rely on social divisions to isolate and oppress parts of the working class. This is why we're the growing movement for a more just and equitable society here in Tulsa, one with a vision for socialism as our deserved future.
Capitalism is the problem, so join us as part of the solution! Our chapter is currently involved with internal political education, union organizing and strike support, Palestinian solidarity, and ecosocialism! To make these things happen and effectively rebuild the mass movement necessary for real democracy, justice, and socialism, we need all the help we can get. No matter how big or how small all of us can contribute to the movement.
Other things we do include chapter social events like bar trivia and movie nights and other socials that help us reforge the social bonds that capitalism seeks to take from us.
