Free the Filton 18 - #FreePoliticalPrisoners

The Free Political Prisoners campaign are holding a peaceful action in solidarity with the Filton 18 in June.
You may have seen in the news that the UK Government intends to move to proscribing Palestine Action - see our statement here on why this will NOT make our June 30th action illegal.
This is a defining moment for peaceful protest in the United Kingdom. A decision on whether or not 18 individuals will receive a fair trial is to be made at Woolwich Crown Court on June 30th from 1pm.
A pre-trial hearing of 18 political prisoners, widely known as the Filton 18, will see the judge in the case make a decision on which legal defences the 18 will be permitted to use in court, if any. In recent years, we have seen corruption in court lead to the removal of all defences from some trials of those taking action to protect lives.
The Filton 18 are a group of Palestine Actionists who were arrested for their alleged involvement in the temporary shutting down of an Israeli weapons factory in Bristol. They have been held in prison without trial for many months, with their trial date not likely to take place for some time. They were initially arrested under a gross misuse of anti-terror legislation, and have had no terror-related charges brought against them. They are accused of causing £1,000,000 (one million pounds) worth of damage at an Elbit Systems weapons factory near Bristol.
We will show that we’re with them. We can show that, like the Filton 18, we will not be bystanders and that we will find a way to step up. With so many now facing starvation in Gaza, we have got to show that a line has long been crossed - the social contact between the people and our governments is being violated.
