Just 1 hour of your time on Thursday 1st May = more Green Exeter Councillors!

Can you give 1 hour of your time on Thursday 1st May?

Every year many voters, including Green voters, don’t get around to voting on election day. Because we are very close to winning in some areas, those missing votes are critical.

So we are running an operation over the whole of the Devon County election day, Thursday 1st May, to make sure our supporters do turn out to vote for us. To do that, we need as many volunteers as possible.

Just an hour of your time could make all the difference.

FACT: for undecided voters - and there are a lot of them - a call by a friendly person on election day can be the thing that makes them decide to vote Green.

What help is needed?

Calling on our Green voters

From 10.30 am to around 7.00pm, people join in - for as little or long as they like - to groups of volunteers who walk around knocking on the doors of people have who have told us they will vote Green, to politely ask if they have voted yet. It’s a brief, friendly call, done in a fun, supportive atmosphere. No experience is necessary as it’s very simple and you won’t be on your own.

Two types of role:

1) Door Knocking:

Volunteers join in as and when they can, it's all very flexible you can help for just one hour or longer. And we have plenty of pitstops for drinks and chat - it's quite the party atmosphere!

The only requirement is that you can comfortably walk at a moderate speed around our hilly city!

2) Providing comfort station houses for volunteers

Some volunteers will be walking for hours around streets with no public loos. If you live in St James, Mount Pleasant / Polsoe,  Heavitree, Newtown,St Leonards, or St Davids and are willing to have our volunteers pop in to use your loo and refill water bottles, that would be a real service.

Any time you can give, at any time of the day or evening on 1st May is hugely valuable – just an hour counts. If you can take a bit of time off work so you can give a block of time, that would be amazing.
