Kalamazoo Child Care Coalition Interest Form

What is the Kalamazoo Child Care Coalition?

KCCC was founded in November 2024 in response to a state-wide effort to develop regional child care coalitions and the recommendations of the Kalamazoo Blueprint for Peace. The KCCC started as a learning space to a space of action. Currently, we are collecting data from parents, teachers, community members and employers, and project proposals are being developed for future funding opportunities.

We believe:

Child care as an industry is a broken system. Parents can’t afford to pay and teachers can’t afford to stay.

Communities are healthier when child care is readily available and that child care should be a profession that ensures a good quality of life for classroom teachers, home and community-based child care owners, directors and support staff.

When child care works, the entire community benefits through increased educational and workforce opportunities for children, parents and providers.
