Labour for a Basic Income - launch event

LABOUR FOR A BASIC INCOME: LAUNCH EVENT

Join us and our guest speakers as we launch our campaign for the next Labour government to implement a basic income.

Sunday 20th September, 3pm-4pm (UK Time BST)

To coincide with Labour Connected, we are holding a special online event on Sunday 20th September to launch Labour For A Basic Income.

In 2019, the Labour Party committed to trialling a universal basic income in its general election manifesto. And across the country, Labour-run Local Authorities have been lobbying government to adopt the policy too. A basic income will be more and more important in helping the UK cope with the challenges it faces in the years to come, and we want the Labour Party to be at the forefront of that debate and to implement a genuinely popular universal service that could become our generation's NHS. Chair by Cllr Patrick Hurley of Liverpool City Council, we will be discussing all this and more on Sunday 20th September, 3pm-4pm (BST) at the launch of Labour for a Basic Income with the following speakers:

Cllr Erin Hill, Kirklees Council

Beth Winter, MP for Cynon Valley

Lloyd Duddridge, National Organiser for Labour To Win

Leo Holmes, Co-Founder of UBI Lab Youth

The format will be a conversation between our speakers, with you getting a chance to ask the panelists questions in the Q&A.

This is the launch event of Labour for a Basic Income, and we would be happy to have you drop in to join us to learn more.

The event is free and you'll be sent zoom details upon registering. By signing up, you agree to be added to our mailing list.
