Let us know what you want to see on our SU election manifestos!

Transform Sussex are buzzing to be running for the 2021 Students’ Union election! We are a group of people connected by student societies and organising, and are advocating for a University built on justice, fairness and solidarity.

If you can't make our Manifesto Feed-in event then please use this form to share your ideas and opinions with us about how the university needs to change and what you want to see from us! Your ideas can be related to any officer role or they can be general, they can be really specific or very broad. All thoughts welcome (:

We are proud to have started change by empowering students, creating the SARA manifesto, divesting from Barclays, supporting the rent strike, and all students’ struggles during the pandemic. Students’ are done with top-down decision making and need to be involved in their education. The last year has needed an SU to hold The University accountable and Transform Sussex will continue to take firm stances on issues affecting students.

This past year has seen students plunged into financial hardship and academic precarity with underwhelming support from the University. We need justice for the students of 2020/21. Not just those that started this year, but everyone who’s university experience has suffered as a result of the ongoing pandemic. However, tangible and lasting justice requires transformation. The pandemic has exasperated and highlighted problems that have largely already existed. Soaring rents, racial inequalities, securitisation, lack of transparency, and an aversion to giving students real power to make decisions that shape our university. We want to change this.

We want @USSU to be run by students’, for students’, let’s strengthen the student voice and amplify student experience. Together, we are stronger!
