Never in human history has one person had such a profound impact on the fate of billions through his ability to manipulate the truth. With his executive orders in January 2025, Donald J. Trump, president of the United States of America, banned the words “climate change” in federal agencies and defunded associated federal programming.

In true doublespeak fashion, Trump promoted his unfounded lie that ‘climate change is a hoax’ in the face of extreme opposition, including from 97% of climate scientists*, 78% of US citizens, and the evidence before his own eyes. *This study is in danger of being removed from NASA’s website. In extraordinary devotion to the principles of doublespeak, Donald J. Trump has:

• lied repeatedly on national media about the reality of the climate crisis
• stripped the words ‘climate change’ from official documents and policies in federal agencies
• defunded programming related to the climate crisis from federal agencies
• scrubbed ‘climate change’ from the websites of EPA, Dept. of Interior, Dept. of Energy, Dept. of Transportation, Dept. of Health & Human Services, and more
• declared a false energy emergency to deflect focus from the very real climate emergency
• threatened to cut off funding to noncompliant agencies
• threatened to terminate the positions of noncompliant federal workers
• tried to dismantle the warnings and research of the NOAA
• removed public data on climate science from federal websites
• repeatedly forced citizens to compile emergency backups of taxpayer funded research at an offsite digital safehouse
• actively promoted a “Drill, baby, drill” approach to oil and gas extraction despite its direct tie to the climate crisis

Whereas previous doublespeak users have revised the perception of the past by rewriting the present, Trump’s climate lies have condemned even the future to irrevocable dystopia. His truly unbelievable Orwellian stance engulfs our entire planet in a catastrophic ecological collapse that will not be officially spoken about as it unfolds.

In accordance with Orwellian principles of doublespeak, this nonexistent award has always been existent. It has no association with any other George Orwell group, foundation, or award, nor the author, publisher(s), or estate. We do, however, recommend reading 1984 as soon as possible before the current administration replaces it with a 2025 revision intended to be used as its how-to guide.
