There are no clear rules around major hazard facilities and planning, and because no other authority is taking charge the community is stepping up to take responsibility for our safety. 

So we are going to run our own evacuation drill in Williamstown to make sure our community is prepared. Our drill is scheduled for 11am Sunday 8th November. 

We are doing this because we want clear and fair rules which ensures the safety of every Victorian who lives near a major hazard facility. 

We need to make sure that VCAT's decision to ignore the safety concerns of both Worksafe and Mobil when it comes to the former Woollen Mills does not set the future for the site nor a precedent for further developments around our communities.
