To: Westpac CEO Peter King and Westpac Board

We’re disappointed by your low pay offer for our new Enterprise Agreement.

We’re disappointed that it’s even lower than that of two years ago.

And we’re disappointed that it falls so far behind pay increases won by staff at other major banks.

An average 3.5% per year for tier one employees and 2.6% per year for tier two employees falls way short of the 5% that we think is fair and respectful. Those above tier two have no certainty at all.

All of us at Westpac have contributed to achieve a massive half-yearly profit of $3.3 billion through our continued hard work and dedication, but we feel we are getting no recognition from you.

We believe that Westpac’s values of “care, listen, act” are admirable qualities. We just ask that these values be applied to Westpac staff as well.

We call on you to step up on pay and give us a pay rise that meets the cost of living and recognises our contributions.

Signed,

Westpac staff
